PEER HELPER PROGRAM

A Reed-Custer High School Student Assistance Program

SERVICES PROVIDED BY PEER HELPERS

Peer Helpers can work with other students in a variety of ways.

Peer Helpers can:

* provide both individual and group peer support

* help students deal with stress, depression, loneliness and other problems

* help students avoid problems with drug-alcohol use

* help promote more informed and responsible decision-making

* promote improved behavior and attendance

* encourage improvement in academic performance

* help prevent students from dropping out of school

 

PEER HELPERS WORK:

* with individual students

* with small groups

* in classrooms

* in the community
