STARS (Supporting Students at Risk) is a program designed to enable students who struggle in certain areas to stay on pace to graduate on time. The course is rooted in an online computer program known as APEX Credit Recovery. This program is designed to guide students through different classes in a step-by-step process, only allowing them to move on when a minimum requirement is met. The requirement is utilized in the courses quizzes and tests. This course is offered to any students who need credit recovery, but is focused on upperclassmen that have failed to meet required credits in the main curriculum areas (math, science, English, etc.). Students will be allowed to receive a maximum of 2 credits (4 semester classes) during their high school careers. The fee will be $100 per semester course (1/2 credit).
