Welcome to Reed-Custer High School for the 2018-2019 school year.  It is always exciting to begin a new school year, giving each student a fresh start and the opportunity to build on past successes.  We encourage all students to get off to a good start and get involved at RCHS.  We also want parents to be involved in their student’s education and in the school community.  It is the shared responsibility of parents, staff and students to assure that students learn and grow throughout the educational process.  In addition, RCHS is committed to provide the safest, most positive learning environment we can.  To help us achieve this goal, we will continue to focus on improving our safety drills and our ALICE protocol for crisis situations.

Our school improvement team and committees are excited for some exciting new things this school year.  We will be having our very first College and Career fair in the fall and students will be using XELLO throughout the school year for career cruising.  We will also be adding a full-time Social Worker at the high school to work with our students who need social-emotional help.  We will be implementing our new ESSA plan to help guide our school improvement efforts moving forward.  Lastly, we will be adding a 95% attendance and minimum grade requirements for all students who have SAT exam exemptions to help us meet ESSA requirements with our students.

In closing, I would like to wish all of you the very best for a happy and successful school year.  I am proud to be your principal and a part of the great tradition of excellence at Reed-Custer.  I encourage each of you to do your best, work hard and bring a positive attitude to school every day so that you can reach your true potential.
