Course Description:
Standard repertoire will be performed throughout both semesters including marching band, concert band, madrigal ensembles and pep band. This class meets daily for both fall and spring terms. Students must enroll in band for the entire school year to participate.

This class will emphasize the basics of music sequencing, original compositions, arrangements, sound and video clips. 

MUSIC THEORY I

Course Description:
The first section of Music Theory will cover basic note and rhythm reading, scale structure, time and major key signatures, triad chord structure, basic music composition, aural training and music history.

MUSIC THEORY II

Prerequisite: Music Theory I or Instructor Consent
Course Description:
The second section of Music Theory will build from the first Music Theory Course adding:
minor scales structure, minor key signatures, chord structures, J.S. Bach chorale style music
composition, popular music composition, music analysis, aural training, melodic/harmonic/rhythmic dictation and music history.
