red-ribbon1.jpgWelcome to Red Ribbon Week at RCMS!  Red Ribbon Week is serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. Since that time, the campaign has reached millions of U.S. children and families.

Announcements will be made each day, Monday being the meaning of Red Ribbon Week, and the other days being facts and statistics about drugs and students will have the opportunity to sign and hang up a drug-free pledge during lunch hours.  Pete Dell’Aquilla from BAHCC will come in and do an anti-drug presentation (Wednesday during PE classes) and the culminating activity of the week will be a Friday assembly, sponsored by the Encore Team.  Students will play Pinball: “Dodge Drugs,” and have a Tug-of-War: “Tug Against Drugs,” with participants receiving Twizzlers and the winners earning Red Powerade.  The Braidwood Police also will send Investigator Finlon, who will present an anti-drug message.  (Assembly schedule 1:55-3:00)
