RCMS Mission Statement


The staff and administration of the Reed-Custer Middle School believe that all students can learn and have the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make a smooth transition to high school, and thus experience a successful and rewarding high school career.To guide us in achieving these goals, we believe that our curricular and co-curricular programs must help develop in each student, middle school appropriate skills in the following areas:

  • Literacy Skills – in the fields of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Technology
  • Academic Communications Skills -- in the fields of Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, Technology;
  • Personal Communication Skills – to enhance meaningful interaction with Peers, Adults, Parents and utilize Technology;
  • Personal Fitness and Health Skills – to promote Healthy Lifestyles;

We are committed as a school to foster these ideals, and we encourage all students to strive to attain their maximum educational potential.
