Reed-Custer Community Unit School District 255U is located primarily in the City of Braidwood, IL, which reports a population of nearly 6,338 according to the 2020 Census. Braidwood is located approximately 20 miles south of Joliet in Will County. Other communities included in the school district's boundaries are Custer Park, Essex, and Godley.
