During the month of February, students at RCES will be participating in a CharlotteWeb.jpg
school-wide reading program called One School, One Book. Every classroom will be reading the classic, Charlotte’s Web. Our goal is to build a community of readers and a sense of belonging within our school. We also want to connect with the people and businesses in our community and let everyone know what our students are doing.

We’ve placed posters in ten locations around Braidwood:

  • CVS Pharmacy
  • Dairy Queen
  • Whitmore Ace Hardware
  • Berkot’s
  • McDonald’s
  • Braidwood Post Office
  • Braidwood City Hall
  • Fossil Ridge Library
  • Reed Custer Fieldhouse

Students can visit these locations, sign the poster, take a ticket from the counter, and bring it back to school to paste on a game board.

OneSchoolOneBookCWPoster.PNGOnce a student has filled the game board by collecting five tickets, he or she can turn in the completed game board to the RCES office.  Each week, we will draw some names from the game boards turned in, and those students will receive Preferred Seating at the Charlotte’s Web movie showing at the end of February, and will have the book tied into our Family Reading Night on February 18th.
