The Senior Spotlight winner for the month of March is Christian Mounts. Christian is the son of Melinda Mounts.

During his high school career, Christian was involved in Football, Wrestling, Baseball, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Honors Combo, Madrigal Brass, Pep Band, Marching Band, ICE Conference Honor Band, and National Honor Society. He was 6 times named Academic All-Conference, was 3 times a Student of the Month, was ICE All-Conference for Trombone, a Trombone Section Leader, participated in the ICE Leadership Conference, and was on the Honor Roll

His future plans are to attend a 4-year college and double major in History and Historical Preservation.

Here are a few thoughts from Christian’s teachers.

Mr. Graham believes that Christian is “one of the most genuine and mature seniors I have worked with. He approaches everything the right way, whether it’s training, competition, or how he treats people. He sets a quiet standard through consistency and character, and his presence makes our program better every day.” Ms. Will says that Christian is “a very hardworking student! His openness to feedback and willingness to strive for success is what makes him great.” Mrs. Rankin thinks that Christian is “a smart, kind, diligent student. He is truly the kind of person who can get along with anyone. He is an absolute pleasure to have in class.” Mr. Wolf acknowledges that Christian is “an honest, kind-hearted, intelligent, hard-working young man. I have only known him to be a terrific example of what it really means to be a Comet.  He will no doubt be successful in his life and I wish him nothing but the best.” Mr. Gleixner believes that Christian is “a great student-athlete. Whether it is football, wrestling, baseball, band, or in the classroom, Christian is always a leader and a great example to younger Comets. He is what a senior at RCHS should be.” Mrs. Lee is thankful that Christian is “a hardworking and dedicated student who consistently gives his best in everything he does. He is thoughtful and kind to everyone around him. I always look forward to seeing Christian because he greets everyone with a big smile and is genuinely interested in getting to know them. His involvement in a variety of school activities, combined with his strong work ethic and character, make him a great role model for his peers!” Mrs. Redwitz thinks that Christian is “a kind, intelligent and quietly confident student that stands out due to his character. He puts his heart into every activity and sport that he is involved in.” Mrs. Arseneau says “although I haven’t had Christian in class since he was an underclassman, it was clear even then that he was destined to accomplish great things at Reed-Custer High School, and I am not surprised by this nomination. Christian consistently demonstrates kindness, respect, and a strong work ethic both in and out of the classroom. He is deeply involved in our school and community. Whether supporting local organizations through the Gridiron Club, National Honor Society, or his team, Christian is frequently seen giving back and making a positive impact. At school, he is the definition of dedication and school spirit — balancing life as a three-sport athlete, while also proudly marching with the band. Even though it has been some time since he sat in my classroom, Christian still greets me with the same warm smile and genuine conversation as if no time has passed. I am excited to see where his path leads after graduation. He is truly deserving of every success that comes his way!” Mr. Kristofer appreciates that Christian has a “great attitude and is always hard-working!” Mrs. Dennis acknowledges that Christian is “one of the busiest students I have had in the program, but he is always on time, communicates his schedule, and never complains.  He comes to rehearsals and performances prepared and with a positive attitude.   Plus…he is just a good human.  He is kind and encouraging to others.” Mrs. Vogler says that Christian is “hardworking, respectful and an all-around amazing kid! He would always help me load up my car after football dinners and is a role model to my kiddos! I am sad to see him go but wish him nothing but the best for him!!” Mr. Welsh simply states that Christian has “the quiet confidence that a successful leader needs.” Ms. Mountain believes that Christian has been “great to have in class this year. He brings a good balance of fun and joking while still being productive and having a drive to be successful! I enjoy talking to him about topics he is passionate about because he always has a lot to share!”

As a final thought, Christian’s advice to younger students is, “Don’t be afraid to fail. Failure builds character, and character builds success.”

On behalf of the teachers and staff at RCHS, we would like to congratulate Christian Mounts as the March winner of the Senior Spotlight.
