Congratulations to our December  ACE winners!

The Senior Spotlight winner for the month of February is Addison Hartman. Addison is the daughter of Jeff and Barbara Hartman.

During her high school career, Addison was involved in Softball, National Honor Society, FCCLA, and Safe Schools Ambassadors. She was also a Student of the Month, on the High Honor Roll, and was named Academic All-Conference in Softball.

Her future plans are to likely attend JJC and transfer to a 4-year school to study either Engineering or Sports Medicine.

Here are a few thoughts from Addison’s teachers.

Mrs. Arseneau is “so grateful to have the privilege to teach Addy for the first time her senior year. She is kind, bright, sweet, and creative. I admire her work ethic and appreciated the thought and time she put into each assignment (big or small). She always takes the time to say a small ‘have a good weekend’ or ‘a nice rest of your day’ on her way out. The Senior Spotlight is well deserved, and I am so excited to see what she accomplishes in her future!” Ms. Ames appreciates that Addison is “kind and hard-working. She has genuine drive to learn and put her all into everything that she does. The calmness and maturity that she displays positively influences her peers. I’m so happy that I’ve been able to get to know her this past year.” Mr. Kristofer says that Addison is “a hard-working student that also has a high level of determination to ‘figure it out’ when faced with a challenge.” Mr. Graham believes that Addison is “an incredible asset to Athletic PE. She consistently demonstrates an amazing attitude, unmatched work ethic, and great sense of humor. She sets a shining example for the grades below her, especially for the female athletes. Addison's determination and commitment to everything she takes on are truly inspiring. I have no doubt that she will be successful in life because anything she puts her mind to, she absolutely excels at it.” Mr. Gleixner thinks that Addison is “a smart, kind, and caring Comet leader. She excels both in the classroom and on the diamond because of her strong will to help those around her and her happy personality.” Ms. Mountain appreciates that Addison is “so great to have in class! She comes in every day ready to learn and with a smile on her face. She has a desire to be successful and shows in all that she does!” Mrs. Lee acknowledges that Addison is “such a hardworking and dedicated person. She truly wants to learn and works her hardest to succeed. Addison always has a positive attitude and greats everyone with a smile. She is a joy to be around; I’m excited to continue to see where her hard work takes her!” Although she hasn’t had her in class for some time, Ms. Meents says that Addison was “a pleasure to talk to and was a genuinely nice person to everyone around her. In Physical Education Class, she always participated to the best of her ability and did what was asked of her with zero complaints. I miss having her in my class, but it is still nice to see her around the halls because she never fails to say ‘hello’ and ask me how my day is. I have no doubt in my mind that Addison will be very successful in whatever she chooses to do after high school.” Mr. Smith appreciates that Addison “has been a fantastic student for me.  She is smart, hardworking, and responsible.”

As a final thought, Addison’s advice to younger students is, “Don’t be afraid to make new friends, and always be kind because you truly never know what someone is going through. Be kind to your parents because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Finally, ‘Don’t try hard to fit in, and certainly don’t try so hard to be different….just try hard to be you.’”
